For Our Safety

Campground Rules

We have some very important rules, most of which are set by the campground owners. We are required to follow these to ensure that we maintain access to this beautiful space & we appreciate your cooperation!

If you see someone doing something unsafe or that could jeopardize our standing with the facility, please remind them of these rules or let one of our Campout Committee members know, (look for the "CAMPOUT TEAM MEMBER" T-shirt).

1. FIRE DANGER: There is a high risk of fire danger here. Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the campground, except by the fire pit. Please keep the fire at a reasonable size, and do not start fires anywhere else. You may not cook anywhere in the campground, absolutely NO CAMPING STOVES. If you have special dietary restrictions, please email us before you register. We will do everything in our power to make sure you can enjoy this campground with us!

2. SMOKING: Smoking is ONLY permitted at the fire pit. Please be respectful of non-smokers wishing to attend a meeting. Please put every cigarette butt in the fire pit or appropriate receptacle. Pack them in, pack them out.

3. MINORS: Minors must ALWAYS be under the supervision of a parent or guardian over the age of 18. It is important for their safety and the safety of our attendees. Minors under the age of 12 can attend at a discounted cost of $20. Minors aged 12-17 must be included in the count when you register. If there are minors at the playground they must be supervised by a parent. No minors are allowed at the river without their parent or guardian. There will be a lifeguard at the river during certain hours of the day. We DO NOT guarantee the safety of every minor, but care about our community's young ones. When you register at the front gate you will check in every minor that is with you. Every parent must sign a liability waiver for each minor accompanying them when they check-in.

4. DOGS: Non-aggressive dogs are welcome, and supervision is always required. Dogs MUST BE LEASHED at all times. Dogs are not allowed in the meal areas or meetings. All dogs accompanied by their owner should be 100% non-aggressive. The owners must clean up after their pets, this includes picking up, bagging and disposing of dog poo, and stowing away their food.

5. GATE: The main gate MUST always remain closed. If you leave early, make sure to close the gate behind you.

6. BEARS: There are bears in the area of this campground and they will come into the campground if they think they can get food! Please do not keep food in the cabins or leave any food outside. Keep all food in a bear safe container in your car and put all food waste in the locked bins behind the kitchen.

7. CABINS: All cabins are first-come-first served. Each cabin has 2-4 twin-size bunk beds. Bedding and pillows are not included. Sleeping pad availability is limited, so you should bring your own. If you need special accommodations, please email us. Priority will go to anyone who needs accessibility.

8. PHONE SERVICE: Most carriers DO NOT have service at this campsite. There is cell service for some people just past the main entrance gate, however the entrance gate is far from the campsite. There is a campground satellite phone for EMERGENCIES ONLY located in the kitchen. We encourage you to plan for zero or limited cell reception. We hope you take this opportunity to unplug and to be present with us.

9. CLEAN-UP: Do not leave litter anywhere! Please pick up any trash and put it in an appropriate receptacle. Please help us clean up on Sunday before you leave (we want to be able to come back to this campground every summer.)

10. CHECK-IN and OUT:  Arrive between 12:00pm and 5:00pm on Friday in order to get through registration before dinner is served. Saturday Check-in is between 12:00pm and 5:00pm. You will be greeted at the front gate by our Registration Rep. You will also have a chance to sign-up for any unfilled service spots. *IF YOU CANNOT ARRIVE DURING THESE TIMES, YOU MUST CONTACT US BEFORE THE CAMPOUT TO MAKE ARRANGEMENTS. Check-out: We ask that you have your campsite or cabin packed up by 11am on Sunday morning. Clean-up of the facilities will be from 11am-2pm, and we hope you will stay to help.

11. POISON OAK/TICKS: Remember to look out for poison oak and check for ticks regularly. If you think you have poison oak, please keep your hands to yourself because it can be contagious. If you have a dog or a child, please check them for ticks regularly.

12. SAFETY: This is an open event of Alcoholics Anonymous. This means that alcoholics, their families, and non-alcoholics are welcome to attend. The Campout Team will handle disruptions to the best of their ability, but they cannot guarantee your comfort or safety. This is a family friendly event.  Please be mindful of the safety of children, of other campers, and of yourself.  This means no harsh language, threats, theft, property damage, unwanted touch/attention, fights, etc. We recommend that you use the buddy system, and never hike or go to the river alone. We DO NOT guarantee anyone's safety. When you register at the front gate, you must sign a liability waiver in order to attend

If you have a complaint or concern regarding safety, please report it immediately to someone wearing a "Campout Team" shirt.

13. SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES: We need a LOT of help to put this thing on! This is YOUR camp-out. Please sign up for an open slot on our Volunteer Clipboard at check-in. We will also have a sign-up sheet located at the Coffee Shack after check-ins. Look for our Volunteer Chair throughout the camp for opportunities to be of service.
